Now the days are starting to get longer and the temperatures are rising, its a great time of the year to get out and about with your dog. It's not only us humans who have been waiting for this season, your dog may also be full of more energy and ready to explore more of the outside world.
Here are 5 activities that are ideal to do with your dog during Spring.
1. Have a photo session
Whether this is just for your dog, a family session, or if you've invited some of your dogs furry friends, this is a great way to explore the countryside and to take home some memories. You could even splash out on a professional photographer.
2. Start those longer walks again
Whether your dog likes socialising with others, or prefers just being with their humans for company, Spring is a lovely time to enjoy the great outdoors.
This could be meandering through the countryside or visiting a dog friendly park. The fresh air is a great way to help get rid of those 'winter blues' and get some exercise for both you and your dog. Remember to build up slowly if you haven't walked as much over winter, and take enough water for your dog.
3. Go paddling with your dog
It may still be a bit cold for swimming, but splashing around in water with your dog can be just as much fun. Whether its in the sea, lake or stream you can all join in this activity. Why not treat your dog to a floating toy to perfect those fetching skills.
4. Create an obstacle course
This is a really nice way to bond with your dog, get them to learn new tricks and for them to get some exercise. The course can be as simple or as elaborate as you'd like. Make sure that each trick you set up has enough space and use materials that won't cut or harm your dog. You'll probably need lots of treats to reward your do when they do well.
5. Go camping
There are many pet friendly campsite around that you could consider. Choose somewhere you can walk your furry friend to have new experiences. Don't forget to pack all the essentials for your dog. Plenty of water and food is extremely important, along with their ID tag, just in case you get separated. You could even just pitch a tent in your garden to see how your dog reacts.
